Gary G. Cacciatore, Pharm.D., J.D.

 

Gary Cacciatore serves as Associate Regulatory Counsel and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs for Cardinal Health, Inc., a global, integrated healthcare services and products company, providing customized solutions for hospitals, healthcare systems, pharmacies, ambulatory surgery centers, clinical laboratories and physician offices worldwide. 

Dr. Cacciatore is responsible for interactions with state and federal regulatory agencies and for advising and representing the company on health care legal and regulatory matters.  He has worked with, advised, and represented the company before a number of regulatory agencies including state boards of pharmacy, departments of health, and other state regulatory bodies.  He has also advised and represented the company on matters before federal agencies such as the federal Food and Drug Administration, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and U.S. Customs.

Prior to joining Cardinal Health, Dr. Cacciatore was an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy and the University of Houston Law Center where he taught courses in pharmacy law and ethics, drug information, and food and drug law.  He is well published in the area of pharmacy law and formerly served as an editor for “Pharmacy Law Digest.”  Dr. Cacciatore has been teaching pharmacy law either full-time or part-time for 25 years.  He currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy where he coordinates and teaches the pharmacy law course.

Dr. Cacciatore received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree with high honors from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy and his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree with honors from the University of Houston Law Center.

Dr. Cacciatore is admitted to the bar in Texas, is a registered pharmacist in Texas and Florida. He is a member of numerous local, state, and national pharmacy and legal organizations and is a Past President of the American Society for Pharmacy Law. In 2015, Dr. Cacciatore received the Joseph L. Fink, III Founders Award from the American Society for Pharmacy Law for sustained and outstanding contributions to the professions of pharmacy and law.
